What Each Option Includes
Discovery Call
A free 15-minute phone call with our patient coordinator. We'll talk through what brought you in and help you figure out which path is the best fit for you — this isn't a clinical visit, so no diagnosis or treatment advice is given here.
In-Person New Patient Exam
A 2–2.5 hour visit in our office with a full physical exam and an in-depth look at your personal and family health history, lifestyle, and environment. Your blood draw is included at no extra charge — done that same day, or scheduled for later if you'd like to arrive fasting. You'll leave with a testing plan built specifically around you; testing itself is billed separately based on what's recommended.
Initial Telehealth Consultation
A one-on-one video visit to talk through your health concerns with Dr. Andersson, wherever you're located. Any testing she recommends is billed separately based on what's discussed.
Remote Wellness Package
No live visit required to start. You complete an in-depth intake questionnaire, then do a personalized panel of testing — covering areas like hormones, nutrients, inflammation, and gut health — through Vibrant Wellness. Once results are in, you'll meet with Dr. Andersson by video to review your findings, all included in one price.
Pediatric New Patient Exam
An in-office exam sized to your child's age — 1 hour for under age 6, or 1–2 hours for ages 6–17.
Do you accept insurance?
We're a cash-pay practice — our visits, consultations, and functional medicine testing aren't billed to insurance, and most functional medicine testing isn't eligible for insurance coverage. In some cases, standard blood testing may be eligible when medical necessity is determined; ask our team if that applies to you. Medicare and Medicare Supplement plans can never be used for labs.
Can I get a superbill?
Yes — upon request, we can provide a superbill (an itemized receipt for services already paid at our office) that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Superbills are available for office visits, but not for labs.
Can I use my HSA or FSA card?
Yes — HSA and FSA cards can be used for most labs and office visit fees, alongside check, cash, credit, and debit.
I don't live in North Carolina — what are my options?
You still have options — the Initial Telehealth Consultation and the Remote Wellness Package are both available to patients outside North Carolina. Because of state licensing rules, the scope of care we're able to provide can vary depending on where you're located. Please contact our office and we'll let you know exactly what's available for you before you book.
What's the difference between the Initial Telehealth Consultation and the Remote Wellness Package?
The Telehealth Consultation starts with a live conversation, and any testing is billed separately based on what's discussed. The Remote Wellness Package skips the call — testing is decided by an intake questionnaire, bundled into one flat price, and ends with a single included video review. Talk first and pay as you go, or skip the call and get one flat price — either way works, it's just a matter of preference.
Is testing included in the appointment price?
For the In-Person Exam and Initial Telehealth Consultation, testing is billed separately based on Dr. Andersson's recommendations (typically averaging around $1,200 without insurance). For the Remote Wellness Package, testing is included in the flat price.
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes — when two people attend the In-Person New Patient Exam together, the total is $625 for both instead of $425 per person. Established patients who refer an immediate family member give that family member 20% off their initial In-Person Exam or Telehealth Consultation fee (this doesn't apply to the Remote Wellness Package). Only one discount applies per visit.
